Good governance
The Mission strengthens dialogue among Bosnia and Herzegovina legislatures and their co-operation with citizens, other institutions and regional partners on the country’s reform goals. In this context, the Mission organizes public events that enable discussions on reform–related legislation, strengthening accountability of and increasing public trust towards democratic institutions.
The Mission supports government institutions and bodies, at all levels of authority, in their corruption prevention efforts, including supporting the development and effective implementation of priority anti-corruption legislation; such as legislation on parliamentary oversight and protection of whistle-blowers.
The Mission also supports the establishment of an effective anti-corruption system in the country, with a clear division of roles and responsibilities for all relevant actors.
The Mission regularly monitors legislative trends and political developments and works with a network of Coalitions against Hate to prevent hate- and bias-motivated incidents and strengthen community cohesion, particularly supporting their collaboration with local authorities and the joint development of Community Cohesion Action Plans.
