With the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek support children of border guard officers of Uzbekistan were greeted by the children of border guard officers of Kyrgyzstan and together visited the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan. This exchange aimed to help build confidence and trust between border communities in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

The OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek is committed to promoting the implementation of the recently ratified Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Kyrgyzstan and in 2018 helped publish the first ever Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Braille script and transferred it to the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the host State.

The work of the Programme Office focuses on a range of security issues: from countering terrorism, border security and transnational threats such as human trafficking, to developing the country’s regions, strengthening efforts to combat corruption on all levels, as well as supporting the reform of the justice sector, implementation of election reform, gender equality and building open and resilient societies.
