Improving the security of international infrastructure
The disruption or destruction of critical energy infrastructures has a serious impact on the health, safety, security and economic well-being, making them an attractive target for terrorists who seek to inflict not only physical but also economic or environmental damage. The OSCE is working alongside a range of partners on strategies to protect non-nuclear energy networks from terrorist attacks. The OSCE encourages its participating States to implement SAFE (the Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade) to strengthen container and supply chain security.
